On our farm there are around 45 Pinzgau cows at home here, 18-20 are milking cows and the rest are young animals and one bull. The Pinzgau breed of cows are a local breed, robust, productive and a beautiful beef breed, which are bred through tradition and conviction.
Bred in the raw mountain regions of the Austrian and Bavarian Alps the Pnizgau beef have developed, through the century, to become a favourite and precious mountain animal for their farmers. Their special walk and pasture ability enables them, in steep mountain countryside with difficult weather conditions excellent results. The Pinzgau cows often experience extreem conditions in their natural surroundings in the high alpine zones.
